I really think the work week should be Tuesday thru Friday. Or Monday thru Thursday. I am fully in favor of working 4 ten-hour days so I can have one extra day off. I did it in college and loved it. If I ever get to be a nurse, I'll only have 3 12s! 4 whole days off! That's reason enough for me!
This weekend was full of football and barbecues. Saturday all the Kohl's/BYU people came over to watch the season opener. Which means all the guys watch the game, and all the wives chat in the dining room while controlling the kids. It was a sad first game for BYU, losing to Boston College 20-3. Watching the games was much more exciting when we actually lived in Provo. There was a certain "buzz" in the air on game day that made it more fun. But I think any sport is more exciting to watch in person. Like baseball on TV? Snore!
On the knitting front, I was happily cabling away on Daneise's chemo cap during the FSU/UM game when my needle broke. Stupid Bryspuns. I hated the join the whole time working with it, and then it just snapped right off. I don't know if they replace them or not. Not that I'd want another Bryspun. I'll prolly just break down and get a pair of Addi's. I wish my Denise's came in smaller sizes. So-thus halted the chemo cap work. I had some Jiffy T&Q so I started a beanie last night on 13s. That stuff is great--instant gratification. I'll prolly finish it tonite. Hooray!
Secret Pal update: Stacy is my secret pal! She finally got her last package from me today. 6 days late, but oh well. She still liked it! She was super fun to shop for and seems like an awesome gal. Hopefully we can get to know each other better now that we're not "secret"! And I decided to break down and sign up for SP6. It was too fun not to do again.
I'm thinking of starting another separate blog soley for knitting. I don't know how many people actually read this, but I think most of them are non-knitters. And the knitting-related content is probably tres boring for them. Hmm...can I really keep up with two blogs??? We shall see.
I'm so excited for the upcoming months. The orchestra, my cake decorating course, and I signed up for a watercolor class! I love being busy and learning new things! Hopefully I can still find time to knit!
Not that I listen to Kanye West, but I think I shall be boycotting him from now on after what happened during the telethon Friday night. What a world class Loser.

Remember, it's the same amendment that protects your calling Kanye a loser, that protects what he said. In fact, I think you need to listen to Kanye, and not stay within your narrow minded view of the world.
Heaven forbid that there are people out there who don't agree with giving the president carte blanche to ruin this country more than he already has. The federal governement KNEW this would happen if a category 4 hurricane hit New Orleans, and was not well equipepd to deal with it. They also kenw that those who would not be able to get out in time would be the poor and underprivileged, most of them are African Americans. And still they did nothing.
In fact, the Federal Gov'ts response reminds me of 9/11 (I was in Manhattan that day so I may be presenting a bit different view here than yours.) It took forever. The president didn't show for what? 5 days? He flew around the country on Air Force 1? He sat and had a dumb expressionon his face while children read "Pat the Bunny?"
He should have cancelled his political stump speeches last week and gone to New Orleans. The gov't should have made a more concerted effort to get the poor and underprivileged out. They didn't. How patriotic is that??
And you're going to call Kanye a loser?
Yeah, I am. It's MY blog. I can say whatever I want. I think you need to be ballsy enough to leave your name. I think YOU'RE a loser! We don't pay enough attention to the black population, we're racist. We pay TOO much attention to them, we're racist. Damned if you, damned if you don't.
I'm so sure people in the White House sat in the Oval office just cackling to themselves about how all those black people are going to die in New Orleans. "I can't wait to see all those black people die! They won't be able to get out! What a perfect way to kill em off. We don't even have to spend a dime! Bwahahaha!" Please! Everyone else sees you as Americans, it's the black people that separate themselves.
And please lower yourself from the horse you have put yourself on because you "were in Manhattan that day". You are not the only one affected by terrorism. I have been through more hurricanes than I can count, my Dad never with us when it hit as he's in the Coast Guard--out helping those who were affected. So don't preach to me about how our government doesn't care about our country.
They have to make decisions that benefit many, not just YOU.
