I'm watching the premier of SNL. Dane Cook is hosting. He's hot. The Killers are performing right now. Sadly, they are sucking. And the lead singers moustache is nasty. I hate it when a band sucks live. I feel like they aren't really musicians. Like they have to "photoshop" their sound in the studio to make it record-worthy. Losers. Tina Fey is off the show, which is super sad. Guess I'll just have to check out 30 Rock when it premiers next month.
I had two tests this past week. Killer. Patho and Pharm. Talk about a crazy stressful week. I seriously thought I bombed Patho, but I wound up getting an 82, which I was bummed about, but at least I passed! I got a 90 on Pharm, hooray for me! And I got my Dean's List letter this week!
Other than being permanently exhausted this week, nothing else exciting happened. Derrick came home, so I can sleep safely and warmly now.

The Bachelorette. No, not Trista.
So the time leading up to Derrick leaving I was tough. I told myself and him I would be fine. I'll get lots done, I'll have fun, I'll do my own thing. No biggie. Well, he's all packed and ready to go and says goodbye to me and where did the toughness go?? Out the window, that's where. I broke down and bawled. What a sap. I went back to sleep until like noon, which was awesome. Then I was feeling lonely and bummed out, so I went to the mall, but I was too bummed out (not to mention broke-ass broke) to buy or even look at anything. So I just went back home. Luckily there was a church broadcast/dinner planned so I went with some girls I knew and had a really good time. I got home around 915 pm and looked online (on the incredibly slow and crappy computer) for movies and saw that The Breakup was playing at 940 so I went. It was really funny, although the ending sucked. Well, I STILL didn't want to go home to an empty apartment, so I went grocery shopping. At the new 24-hour Wal-Mart!! I love shopping at midnight!! I don't have to fight any crowds!! I finally went home and cleaned and putzed around and tried to install the new chain lock I had just bought. Turns out our door is metal and so the two minutes I tried drilling the slide bar into the door was useless. Finally went to bed at 230, and fell right asleep, which is what I was hoping for.
Church was lonely yesterday. Didn't sit by anyone, nobody sat by me. Came home and took a mini nap before visiting teaching. Then my friend Rebecca came over and we "studied" for a little bit, which mainly consisted of talking about Gray's Anatomy. Later I took a bath and used my new solid bubble bath from Lush, which was awesome. Lots of bubbles and smelled really yummy. After that I was suuuper warm and comfy in my sweats and just camped out on the sofa and watched me some teevee. I was still really sleepy from staying up so late the night before but I couldn't fall asleep right away. I don't like sleeping alone. Plus, it's cold. I miss my live-in space heater.
Now it's another Monday. I should be studying for my Patho exam tomorrow, but I'm not. I realized in class today that my shirt was on backwards. It's gonna be one of those days....

A death in the family
Derrick's leaving for five days in a few minutes, and he's taking the computer with him!!!! I think I just may spontaneously combust. It's like he's taking a vital organ, a limb of my body. It's like I'm dying. How will I survive? Your condolences are welcome.

Today was a fabulous day. Why was it fabulous? Because it was the grand opening of our new Super Wal-Mart!!!! Of COURSE I had to go for the Grand Opening! It was glorious. And they have one my favorite cereals, which no other store in town carries. What is it, you ask?? Why, it's Berry Berry Kix!!! Sooooo yummy. I don't care if the average age of regular consumers is 4.6. It's gooood. Going to a Super Wal-Mart was like going home. I had found myself. I was at peace. Sigh. Love it.
Congrats to my hubby who got promoted yesterday! He'll be the Assistant Buyer in young men's tops. Yay for him!!!

Bahston
Boston was sweet. It was a really quick trip, but we managed to see a lot. We got in Friday night and Jason, Erica, Scott, and Dan picked us up and we headed straight for the Cheesecake Factory, of course. But not until we got completely lost in Boston's jacked construction and crazy streets.
Saturday we got up and headed to Boston College for the game. We met my mom there and had breakfast and walked around BC. The game was awesome, but in the end we lost 23-30 in double overtime.
After the game we walked around downtown a bit, checking out the markets and shops and stuff. Boston is a way cool city. Very small. And the accent is awesome.
That night we had dinner at Legal Seafoods, supposedly the best seafood place in Boston. It was soooo good. The clam chowdah was delicioso. And look at my dinner:

Isn't he cute????
Sunday we did some of the more traditional Boston sight-seeing. The Freedom Trail, Bostom Common, Paul Revere's House, the Old North Church. All of the streets are brick cobblestone, really hard to walk on, and today my feet and legs were KILLING me. Oh man, they hurt to bad. Erica and I put our foot down and made it to Newbury St. where all the shopping is. We hit up the Lush store there, and I finally got to try the Shu Uemura eyelash curler that everyone raves about. No wonder--it's awesome. It made my pathetic non-curling left eyelashes curl all day!! Score!
We toured Fenway Park, too, which was a really cool tour. The guys loved it, of course. We got to go through the press box, sit in the Green Monster seats, and walk on the field. Well, the warning track, at least.
It always happens to me that while I'm uploading pics onto Blogger it won't let me. I can get like two, and then the links never show up when I upload them. Boo. So, if you wanna see more, lemme know and I can send you the Ofoto link.
I'm super duper tired, and it's only 9:30, but who cares. I'm going to bed.

Well, we're back from Boston. It was a great trip. I'll blog about that tonite with pictures, but for now, I got tagged by Lara, and in the spirit of procrastinating homework, I shall do that now instead.

Remembering 9/11
So I was really dreading today, being the five year anniversary since 9/11. During the ride to school all the radio stations were talking about it and people were calling in saying where they were when they found out about it. It got me to thinking about where I was. I was at BYU, sleeping, when my friend James called and told me to turn on the tv. It was like 7:00 am and I was half asleep. I couldn't believe what I saw. It was even more unbelievable as I watched the second plane, and then watched them fall. I watched TV with my roommates until we had to leave for class or work or wherever we were going. I remember there being huge screens with CNN on in the Wilk, broadcasting the events. Everyone seemed numb, and no one knew exactly what to say. So while I was listening to people recount their memories, I was reliving mine, and of course crying as I'm driving to school. Luckily, classes proved to be a great distraction, and 9/11 was barely mentioned in any of my classes. In fact, I almost forgot about the whole thing until I was driving home. Monday Night Football had a tribute to it, to which I promptly welled up. I have so much love and respect for all of those that serve our country. Military, police, firefighters, etc.
Today my thoughts are with those that lost friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers five years ago today. They will never be forgotten--they have brought our country together in a great spirit of patriotism.

Cities are way cooler than camping
Well, school has begun. It's going to be a crazy busy semester, I can tell. My reading schedule is ridiculous. Good thing I have Friday's off!! Except for today...I'm back temping at Waste Management just for the afternoon. It's all good, though, b/c I'm sitting here reading for my pediatric class. Nice! My lab this year is going to be more challenging that last semesters. No more blood pressures and walkers. This time it's IV's, colostomys, and NG tubes. Yesterday I did intradermal injections on this blog of simulated flesh. It was really cool, and I got the hang of it right away. Hopefully the rest of the semester goes the same way! We have a few new teachers, which could prove to be beneficial. First time teachers are always easier than seasoned ones. Hopefully our new Chinese patho teacher, whose American name is "Freddie", gives us straightforward tests. This is his very first time teaching in English. Engrish. Lucky us!!
Last weekend our big-city-friends Jason and Erica visited us. It was a faaaabulous weekend. I was sick of 100% of it, but all was good. I lost my voice on Friday and am just barely getting it back. All thanks to my lame-o sinuses and infected vocal chords. So now I'm on antibiotics and a nasal spray. Yum!! Of course, you know what that means. No gettin' busy w/o a jimmy for 2 weeks. Ew.
Anyway, we spent Friday-Sunday in Chicago, which was an absolute blast. Thanks to Jason's hotwire-fu, we got a great deal on a sweet hotel---the W. It was awesome. Friday we just cruised around town and checked out the sights and had dinner at Wildfire. Holy crap, I practically rolled outta there. I got the blue cheese crusted filet mignon which is deliciously undescribable. We got key lime pie for dessert, which was gooood. Jason got the baked sweet potato as his side which is incredible. Needless to say, I'm now craving both steak and baked sweet potato, and we are having both for dinner tonite. But at home. For a fraction of the price. :)
Saturday we went to the Cubs game again the Giants. We had awesome seats, and we saw Barry Bonds hit a home run, which was pretty cool, even though I don't like the dude. Afterwards, we went up the Sears Tower. It was really clear to we got a great view. Actually, the weater that weekend couldn't have been more perfect. It was beautiful. After that, we walked up Rush Street and found a freestanding MAC store so I could get some stuff that they don't have at my counter here in Milwaukee, and then we went to The Cheesecake Factory. No trip with Jason or Scott is complete without a trip to the CF. We ate and then headed back to the hotel to watch the BYU game against Arizona. This was the only downer to our trip. The fact that our beloved cougars LOST. Erica and I slept most of the time, only waking up to the occasional outburst or explitive.
I finally made it to a Lush counter. Their stuff is awesome. I got a shampoo bar and a bath bomb. They smell sooo good. They have so much other stuff that I want now. Maybe in Boston next week.....
Sunday we went on a museum rampage. We started at the Field Museum, huuuuge, lots of cool stuff), breezed through the Shedd Aquarium (seen one fish, ya seen em all), then the Museum of Science and Industry, which was my favorite. It is gigantic, with lots of hands on exhibits. I def need to go back and spend more than an hour there. We were rushing through all the museums to make it back to Navy Pier for the water architecture tour. We had time before it left so we ate on the Pier, then played some miniature golf (where the mini golf gods were playing mean jokes on Erica), rode the carousel, and got some ice cream. The tour was very interesting--too bad I don't know more architectural terms or I would have understood more of it.
Then it was time to make our way back to the Brew City. We were exhausted. But Chicago was a blast.
Monday was Labor Day, and we were planning on tailgating before the Brewers/Dodgers game. On the way to the stadium it started to rain, so we headed back home and just grilled at home. The game was fun, and I realized I am enjoying baseball more and more with each game. Much to Derrick's delight, I'm sure. I'm understanding more of the rules, and paying more attention. I guess anything's more enjoyable when you understand it I guess....
We did a mini tour of Milwaukee then *POOF!* they were gone. So sad. It was such a great weekend. A sports-centered weekend, yes, but still fun. ;)
Next weekend we are in Boston, for the BYU/Boston College game. Scott, Jason, and Erica will all be there. Should be another fun weekend! My mom is coming to the game, so that should be fun too. Maybe we can get some free meals outta her. :)
Fantasy Football is in full swing, and I'm already set to win this weeks matchup. Playing FF is the only way I can really endure the winter and the countless hours of football Derrick will be watching. This year is even better, since it was a $20 buy in and winner takes all. Hey, I could use $240 bucks! Tom Brady is on my team, so I'm pretty much set to win, right???
I was sadded by the news that the Crocodile Hunter died. How terrible!! Although, it would have been cooler if he was killed by a crocodile.
Well, I have rambled on way too long, and I'll be surprised if anyone actually made it to the end of this.
Oh, belated congrats to my friend Maria and my cousin Gwen for givin birth to 2 beautiful baby boys. Tanner and Caleb. Can't wait to meet you guys!!!
