Next!

So screw the Friday Features. They will never flourish. Dead before they are even born.

This past weekend we went down to Champaign-Urbana to visit friends. It was nice to catch up with them, but it was sooooooooooo boring. They have an 11 month old girl, who still does not sleep through the night because mom runs to her at her EVERY PEEP. Crap, if I knew I was going to get held is I rolled over, I wouldn't sleep either! And when she's down, everyone has to be SILENT. We tried watching Narnia, which I have wanted to see forever, but it was sooo quiet I could't hear a damn thing and I got pissed and fell asleep. These friends have lived there for a year, but she has never been on campus, nor has she left the town once. They do not know the area, the good places to eat, anything interesting to see. I would go absolutely MAD if I didn't know how to get around my city or know what there was to see, do, and eat. Maybe because when I was growing up we lived in so many places and my dad was really into seeing everything about the place. The city, the rest of the state. We never flew anywhere, we always drove. "We live in a great country, and I want you kids to see as much of it as you can", he would always say. I appreciate that now. Especially since Derrick grew up wiping his butt with 50 dollars bills, and his entire family of 10 would fly to vegas from LA on a whim. Sure he's been all over the world, but I've got him beat on State Counts! So we got there Friday night, and needless to say, by Saturday we were already bored silly. So Sunday morning we decided to get the heck out and drive down to Springfield and check out the capitol and all of the Lincoln Historical Sites. It was actually pretty cool. We toured his home and his tomb, which is MASSIVE. Took lots of pictures. The 3 hours we spent in Springfield were more fun than the 36 we spent in Champaign. I think it's good to be around friends with kids, because it always gives me ideas of things I do and don't want to do.

Monday I started the Special K diet. Which means I have a bowl of Special K for breakfast and lunch, and all the fruits and veggies I want, and then eat a normal dinner. I'm supposed to lose 6 pounds in 2 weeks. Not that I'm looking to lose weight really, but I need to tone up my gut if I want to look semi-decent in my bikini at the beach. We've been walking outside this week to get our blood pumping, and I think it's working. I just needed some kind of jump start. Besides, Special K with Strawberries is freaking GOOD.

Only 4 more weeks of school. Hallelujia. I'm already half checking out mentally. I did get a 94% on my last Patho test. Go me.

It's been gorgeous weather lately. I hope it stays that way. No more snow, weather gods!!!

Time for lunch!

My sister-in-law does that with her kids, and it drives me BATS. But I think she even one-ups your friend. Her kids are three and five, and she still uses a FREAKING BABY MONITOR so that if they make one tiny peep she can run to the room and wait on them.

MAJOR ISSUES.
