3!

Happy Anniversary to us!! 3 whole years! I remember being just married and talking to girls who had been married 2 or 3 years. I thought it sounded like FOREVER. Now, in our circle of friends, we are among those who have been married the longest. Sure, there are some who have reached the 5 year mark, but some are just celebrating 1 year! I really can’t believe it’s been 3 years. What harder to believe is that 2 of those years have been spent in Wisconsin! Weird. Sometimes we sit and say to each other, “Do we really live in Milwaukee??” It’s a weird thought. Anyway, no big plans for tonite…Derrick has a softball game so we’ll go to that. Make dinner. Watch The Hills. We are going to celebrate on Saturday—it’s going to be one busy day. Fair in the morning, birthday party for Paige (her one year birthday was yesterday!), then dinner, then American Idols Live! Still trying to sell the extra ticket…any takers?? Also, any suggestions as to where to go to dinner? Somewhere downtown preferably, although it doesn’t have to be. And somewhere super yummy.

So having read my eye plight, Antony recommended that I rub gold on my eye and that would cure my sty. Something about a crazy Spanish remedy. Well, I was skeptical, of course. How could rubbing gold on my eye make a sty go away? I tried it anyway, and when I woke up this morning….I WAS RIGHT!!! It was a load of crap!! Didn’t do ANYTHING! Thanks anyway, Antony. I did, however, remember to bring the eyedrops with me today, and it hasn’t itched that much. I think it’s all psychological. Yesterday I knew I didn’t have them, so it itched like crazy. Same thing with chapstick (to which I am EXTREMELY addicted to). I can leave the house and forget my chapstick and be totally fine until I realize I forgot it and then my lips will ache for it. Of course, this rarely happens, seeing as how I have a tube in every room of the house, in every purse, in my car, in my backpack, pretty much everywhere. I’m pretty ticked b/c I lost my Burt’s Bees somewhere, and I actually liked it. Of course, Chapstick Mint is the absolute best. I’m not entirely sure where I picked up this habit. I do remember licking my lips a lot when I was a kid and they would get so chapped they would turn purple. Maybe it started then. My first tube was Chapstick cherry. Smells soooo good. Safe to say, however, that I’ve carried chapstick every single day of my life since at least 1990. And I will probably carry it with me when I move into a nursing home and my lips are just wee little strips of wrinkled flesh. But at least they’ll be soft and moisturized!! Derrick says I need to kick the habit. Whatever, dude. The day you stop watching SportsCenter will be the day I stop wearing chapstick. And we all know that day is never.

You know what would be awesome?? To have a job testing out beauty products. Makeup and shampoos and masks and stuff like that. Anyone know of a job like that? I practically do it anyway, but it would be super sweet to actually get paid for it! There’s a cool website called MakeupAlley that has reviews on practically everything, so if you’re thinking of trying something, check out the reviews first if you want to research a little before you buy it. I’m on it all the time.

Since work has been less-than-exciting, I’ve been playing Sudoku online. I never really got into that craze, and after playing it, I’m still not that into it. I’d much rather do crosswords. Sudoku is challenging, but I guess I’m more of a word puzzler than a number puzzler. Unless it’s the number fill-in puzzles. I love those. Anyway, not much else to talk about. Guess I’ll go find a game to play.

Happy Hump Day!
