MENSA quiz

Derrick brought home this quiz from work for me, since he knows I love to do these kinds of things. And I do. I challenge you to do it, WITHOUT GOOGLING ANYTHING. No cheating. Print it out and do it at your table or whatever. Here's what it says:

You have to work out what the letters mean. See No 0 as an example. According to MENSA, if you get 19+ of these, you are a "genius". Only 2 MENSA members achieved full marks. See how well you do.

Scoring: 1-5 is Average, 6-11 is Somewhat Intelligent, 12-18 is Intelligent, 19+ is Genius.

What did I get? 27. Derrick gave me a hint on a few which I did not count. Nor did I count the first one, No 0. And Derrick can vouch for the fact that I did not cheat! I knew it! I AM A GENIUS!!! Ok, here you go!

How long did it take you? It is driving me crazy, but I can't stop doing it!

I got 20, but that ain't no intelligence test. A lot of these are just trivia! There's no construct validity. But I can vouch for you being a genius.

Would a genius know the dances to such hits as Give It To You? What is that stupid story he tells on the DVD anyway? The one where he like pauses to reminisce about what it was like to be on the set? Yeah stupid. The answer by the way is, yes, a genius would know that dance.

Heehee...I've seen the quiz before and never finished it...I know some of them, but I don't want to see the answers until I really try...

So, no, I've never been to Louis Lunch, although I don't have a good excuse not to. In fact, I'll make a trip there soon, mostly because when I saw it on the Food Network I was very ashamed I had never been! I'll take pictures and everything...

And thanks for your past comments, especially on the Solitude in Brookline post...I love seeing your name flash in my inbox...

I love your blog posts, too! It's so nice that we can keep up with each other this way...

My mom started using my diet ideas and says she's lost 5 pounds (and she hasn't been able to lose weight any other way...) which is so cool...

Laters...

I think knowing random bits of trivia does make you intelligent, Silvs. You could be a "genius" in one topic, such as engineering, and know nothing else, but I would not consider you a genius. I would consider you a geek.

I beg to differ. Trivia is by definition trivial, or unimportant...therefore, irrelevant in the discussion of intelligence. I can keep this up all day long.

I'll take the penis mightier for 400!!!

Excuse me, The Rapist. Why do you think they have Genius Editions of Trivial Pursuit??? Exactly!

Are you serious, Turd Ferguson? They have G-E-N-U-S versions of trivial pursuit, GENIUS! I so hope that you weren't joking because that would be so funny. I guess if you did mean that, then it would be pretty dang clever. Either way...this comment really made me laugh.

First time I tried I answered 31 correctly. I missed #31 and #33, simply because it does not even corrilate to the other questions.
