A peep show of peep toes

I feel like I own my fair share of shoes. But I know that there are many women out there that trump me in numbers. By far. I know you have zero interest in my shoes, but since I am home, lonely, and bored. I decided to take a picture, or 59, of all of my shoes for your viewing pleasure. (If you counted, and got 58, you are correct. I omitted a picture of my white nursing school shoes. My OCD-ness didn't want a single picture of them, and it didn't fit numbers-wise into the other collages. But don't worry, you're not missing much.) And because I am OCD, I have arranged them my color. I thought about arranging them by style, but then the mix of colors would have sent me into convulsions. My closet is organized by color as well. After analyzing the mix, I realize my collection is lacking in yellow and purple shoes, and overabundant in brown and black. I'm doing pretty good in the pink shoe department, however, with 4. I feel like I could tell a story about each pair of shoes. But don't worry, I won't. Suffice it to say there are a number of pairs that are long since past their prime, but I haven't tossed them for one reason or another. Maybe today is the day. Maybe if I get enough comments about how ugly they are. And after looking at the variety, I realized I don't have a lot of athletic shoes. Is this surprising? Not really. The only pair missing from my collection for it to be complete is a pair of white Chucks. The only shoe I wore in middle school, it is the overall comfort and go-with-anything shoe. I also need a new pair of white shell toes. The ones I have are so beat. Those two shoes are probably my most favorite shoes of all time.

A lame post, I know. But I do love my shoes. And since it's Earth Day and all, I guess I should make some sort of statement about that. So....recycle your shoes when you're done with them! I know Wal-Mart has a bin where you can toss them right in. Easy peasy!

I don't think elmo counts as a shoe.

1. Collage 2, row 2, column 2. WTF?

2. Collage 2, row 3, column 1. Are you 75 and going to brunch?

3. Collage 3, row 1, column 3. Unless those suckers were handpicked in Jerusalem I believe they need a little visit to the walmart bin.

4. Collage 3, row 2, column 1. See #2.

5. Collage 4, row 1, column 1. Ahhh, I loved those shoes that I had IN SEVENTH GRADE.

6. Collage 4, row 1, column 3. Are these from your goth days?

7. Collage 5 gets a pass.

8. Collage 6, row 3, column 3. I know Derrick is cheap, but I'd bet he would cough up the $3.50 for a new pair if he saw this picture

9. Collage 7, row 2, column 1. See #5.

Do I need to turn you into Oprah for one of her "hoarding" episodes?

Or, you could not buy as many shoes.

I take that back. I missed the middle square of collage 5. Think back to the episode of Friends where Rachel borrows Monica's "chunky shoes". Wasn't that show on in the 90's? I think that was like 10 years ago.

Wow! AWESOME unintended, but nonetheless offensive, slight to Karen. Poor Derrick does have to put up with a lot of crap for having such a high-maintenance wife.

You know, even if you do think those things, sometimes it's just better to leave it unsaid rather than posting it on her blog. That's just me though.

LOL Silvs. You should read some of Rebecca's comments on my blog.

I love it...it's makes me not feel so guilty about my shoe fetish. What I'm worried about is the amount of time it must have taken you to shoot all these shoes, each pair sitting in the exact same position. Clever. Derrick better get home soon!
