As if we couldn't see it coming a mile away, we didn't get the house. How can you compete with another couple whose parents are paying for it, 100% IN CASH, at almost full asking price, and closing in 14 days? Just wiring the money over. Like, "hey, I think I'll buy this house today," like it's a pack of gum, or a breakfast burrito.
Seriously? Maybe it's a sign we're not supposed to buy a home in Wisconsin. It's very discouraging and frustrating, and I'm trying not to get too upset. Guess I should start looking for shacks, b/c it's obvious houses are out of the question, let alone mansions, and I'm sick of living in an apartment.

that's such a bummer! what a pain! there should be a rule against parents paying for their kid's homes. that one had been on the market a while, too. i'm surprised.
How frusterating! I am sorry. Wouldn't life be great if your parents still paid for everything? The house next door is still for sale-he's dropped the price and getting pretty desperate...
That would be so annoying! I think this is a sign you need to move down to Chicago. There is much better shopping down here.
My tenants are moving out of my basement....move in.
That's a real bummer. I was so excited for you guys when I saw your post last night.
Karen, I'm so sad for you! That's terrible,I was so looking forward to a huge halloween party this year!! You can move in with us, but I warn you in these hot summer days, I like to hang out in the buff!
That sucks. But obviously it wasn't the right one for you. Don't give up hope! Keep looking!
Sorry to hear the bad news! Maybe it is a sign you guys should move here to Seattle and be our neighbors. Oh, wait we are still renting so that doesn't help. Hmm, I wish you the best of luck and am excited to see the dream home when it all goes down. Keep your spirits up and keep us posted.
