Saturday was quite possibly the perfect day. After a leisurely morning, we all got ready and headed to the mall to see the Jolly Old Man himself, Santa Claus. The line wasn’t horrible, and after waiting 20 minutes or so it was Summer’s turn to sit on his lap. We made sure she saw him before in case she had any anxiety. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. She was happy as a clam sitting there, and only experienced a brief moment of what looked like panic. Our mall lets you take 2 pictures with your own camera FOR FREE, and that’s exactly what I did. We walked around the mall for a bit and bought Summer her first ornament at, where else? Callister’s Christmas!
After the mall we went furniture shopping where we found sofas for our basement. Hopefully they’ll be here in time for the New Year. All I know is this Ikea futon is not comfortable for sitting. Hopefully it’s better for sleeping….
We went to Kohl’s to look around and while we were in the checkout line this older couple in front of us started talking to Summer and waving and the man grabbed a stuffed moose off the shelf and bought it for her! Wasn’t that so sweet of him??
We had dinner at Chili’s (thanks to Mark & Amy!!!) to perfectly round out the day.
Oh, and what day is complete without a public urination sighting? Yes, we saw a grown woman squatting along one of the entrances to THE MALL peeing. Then I proceeded to watch her wipe with something, then drop that something on the ground and pull up her britches. Ah, the holidays.

I think I just threw up in my mouth.
I can barely do that in the mountains holding onto a tree branch for support. That lady's got some skill. Ah, I'm going to miss these Milwaukee people.
Okay you day was perfect until the end! That is just disgusting!!
I can't believe that guy bought the stuffed animal for her, that is so nice!
Glad she liked Santa
At least she wiped...
Sounds like a great/interesting day. Super nice of that guy to buy her a stuffed animal what a random act of kindness, glad to still know that there are great people out there! Summer only gets more adorable with age, love seeing her grow! Just realized I could leave comments on your blog, so very sad.
That is filthy mcnasty. Speaking of filthy mcnasty Milwaukee-style is that a couple weeks ago our neighbor barfed out of his car window, didn't clean it off his car for a couple of days, and then to top it off he parked right next to our front door.
And, I love the picture of Summer with Santa!
My mom and I LOVE Summer's first ornament...darling!
I'm speechless!

Summer could not be any cuter....she is adorable. Did she get any takers for that gap contest?
