Day of Mourning

B-Favre announced he would be retiring today, and I'm surprised life as we know it here in Milwaukee didn't come to a standstill. Will Wisconsinites continue to love their Packers without Favre? Without their God? If the Pope died and the Packers won the Superbowl on the same day, I guarantee you that the Packers would make the headline in the morning paper. No doubt about it.

These people need to get a life.

I worked my first night shift last night. I did pretty well, didn't really feel sleepy all night. Got home, slept 4 hours or so, and that's when it hit.

Will I be able to adapt to this night schedule? Will I be able to work two days in a row starting tomorrow? Will I forever be doomed to a life of even darker undereye circles? Find out next week, as "Karen is Tired at Work and Derrick is Scared to be Home Alone" continues....

That's the only thing about the medical profession I could never do. (Well, that and all the gory stuff!) The HOURS. They aren't kind. I hope you get into a "groove" soon! Aren't you glad they invented undereye concealer?

My son cried when he heard the news on the radio. Brett Favre WAS the Pope, as far as some people are concerned...

Dude, Derrick being scared home alone is no joke. That's hilarious!

I worked the grave yard shift for almost four years and I'm sorry to say you never get used to it. Congrats on becoming a new RN and Post Partum is the best unit ever. You will love it! I am still trying to get myself into nursing school...I want to just give up and die because it is so freaking competitive.
