New Years

We usually go to the Chaplin’s for New Year’s Eve and do fondue and play games, but it’s getting a little tricky now that our kids are getting older. So we decided to just do our own thing at home, and it was great! We had fondue with my parents and the girls (the chocolate being the big favorite) and then watched last year’s ball drop on YouTube at 9 pm and put the girls to bed. They were none the wiser, and probably the last year we could get away with doing that now that Summer can read. Ha.  IMG_2910We made prime rib on New Year’s day and it was to die for. We used the Lawry’s Steakhouse recipe and it was amazing. We also made their creamed spinach—also delicious. I’m getting hungry just talking about it!

Of course, part of New Year’s Day now always includes some prepping from Summer’s birthday, and this year was no different. Here’s hoping 2014 is as good as 2013!

WHat a GREAT surprise to see you blogging! Your girls are adorable. I love how in XMAS day the girls Run in and Tessa was just straggling with her crawl. Lol. Thus is the life of a little sister.
